Yes, Bloodfin Tetras have been known to nip at fish with flowing tails. The Bloodfin Tetras are attracted to the long flowing fins so it is best to keep fish similar to that of Angelfish, and bettas away from them.

The main problem with fish that unfortunately are victims to fin nippers end up generally getting fin rot plus the added stress on the fish from those fish bullies can lead to more disease.

Typically the Bloodfin Tetras are quite peaceful to moderate tempered fish. Other than the fin nipping they are not aggressive except during breeding. …

How to avoid putting the wrong type of fish in your tank

Unsplash

When you are getting into the aquarium hobby and realize that being around your pet fish and raising them is fun you will want to buy more tanks/fish. It’s not uncommon for people to mistakenly put the wrong types of fish with poor tank mates.

Personally, I like to stick to the peaceful to moderate temperate fish to avoid this issue. Some fish have a tendency to be dominant or nip at flowing fins and some fish are very docile. It all depends on your personal preference.

The Axolotl Can Be Found in the wild at Lake Xochimilco and Lake Chalco. At least the Axolotl use to be found at Lake Chalco but they no longer live there due to the lake's nature flooding, it has now been drained dry. The Axolotls can now be found at Lake Xochimilco. This is sad for the axolotls since the lake they currently live in is a canal lake. They are merely in a shadow of their former glory but luckily they are kept alive by the people in Mexico, and others in the fish-keeping hobby.

No, the Bloodfin Tetras, once acclimated, will adapt to their water parameters and become very hardy little fish. In fact, their hardiness makes these guys very beginner-friendly. In my opinion, they are very underrated fish.

Bloodfin Tetras can survive in cold temperatures of around 63 to as high as 83 but that doesn’t mean you should. In fact, I would recommend staying around the middle 70s for optimal temperatures.

Yes, Corydoras Catfish will clean the tank. The Corydoras Catfish will clean uneaten food, and scavenge in all the hard-to-reach areas of your tank that your fish would have otherwise missed. The cory catfish is a good scavenger fish but nonetheless, they will not be able to help with your algae maintenance.

The Corydoras Catfish will eat pretty much anything. Some of the corys favorite meals are bloodworms, blackworms, brine shrimp, and fish pellets. The corys will eat fish flakes as well but the corys prefer more meat-based food so having the brine shrimp and bloodworms will be amazing.
